An inviting and immersive temporary installation, 'The Agora' is a series of 4 pavilions assembled as gathering places to engage, interact and connect.
Designed with New Practice for TEDxGlasgow and hosted at the Scottish Exhibition Campus (SEC) the large scale temporary pavilions were intended to reference the city of Glasgow's rich industrial heritage through the use of a large scale scaffolding structure.
The city's present day reputation as a creative and artistic hub is represented through a series of collaborations with local Glasgow-based illustrators, Alice Dansey-Wright, Kate Owens & Emer Tumilty.
Large scale fabric banners were commissioned and digitally printed in Glasgow, then draped on and around the structure. Designed to decorate and delineate the exhibition into different tonal spaces, the colour-filled artworks encouraged the audience to connect with each other, using The Agora as the foundation for future collaboration.
